What is “Indoor” Field Hockey?

“Indoor Field Hockey” has a different set of rules, a different playing-field surface (think basketball-like surface), and different equipment (for example, you need an indoor field hockey stick). 

It is played between the months of November and March to develop the players’ skills in the off-season.  It’s a great way to increase the speed and quickness of stick skills and decision-making and improve ball-handling skills, and there is a heavier reliance on maintaining possession.

IMPORTANT!

Here's a breakdown of the updated age classifications for the 2025 club season:

• Under-8 Age Classification: Players born after July 31, 2016, are eligible.

• Under-10 Age Classification: Players born after July 31, 2014, are eligible.

• Under-12 Age Classification: Players born after July 31, 2012, are eligible.

• Under-14 Age Classification: Players born after July 31, 2010, are eligible.

• Under-16 Age Classification: Players born after July 31, 2008, are eligible.

• Under-19 Age Classification: Players born after July 31, 2006, are eligible.

SWS will offer two different types of indoor programs that will meet the needs of all players regardless of skills/ability:

1 - Travel Team

• National Indoor Tournament Team

• National Indoor Festival Team

2 - Pipeline Program - **NEW

If you are on our Fall Travel Team - you will be offered a spot in our winter program. Then, you will again be evaluated once indoor practices begin in November in order to determine the specific team rosters.

PAYMENT SCHEDULE (depending on age group):

• $350 Non-refundable Deposit

• $462.50 Balance Due November 1

• $462.50 Balance Due December 1

Includes:

• Weekly Team Practices

• Participation in 3 local tournaments any additional local tournaments are not included in overall price of the club

Required Additional Costs:

• USFHA Membership Fee

• National Indoor Tournament Qualifier (Approx. $125)

• National Indoor Tournament Fee  (Approx. $250)

• National Indoor Festival Fee (Approx. $250)

• Uniform and Team Gear (Approx. $150)

• Indoor Stick (any)
